AEGIS is an open-source, self-hosted defense layer and defense-in-depth platform for LLM applications and agents, distributed under the Apache 2.0 license. The system scans incoming prompts for injections or jailbreaks and evaluates outgoing responses for toxicity, PII, and sensitive leaks. It features a tenant-level policy engine driven by CEL-rule policy packs to execute allow, transform, escalate, or block decisions. Additionally, AEGIS provides agent tool-permissioning with taint tracking and human approval for irreversible operations, and transparently publishes adaptive red-team security benchmark results.
