What it does
About coldstart
coldstart is an open-source codebase memory and navigation tool built for AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor. Distributed as an npm global CLI package, it provides unified lookups for symbols, line ranges, file importers, and callers across more than 20 languages parsed with Tree-sitter. Instead of pre-computing embeddings, coldstart delegates semantic reasoning to frontier models and tracks note freshness using content-hashed notebook anchors. When prompt submissions match notebook entries, recall hooks inject codebase context directly into the agent.
