What it does
About Huminn
Huminn is a local-first RSS reader for Google Chrome that replaces the browser's default New Tab page. Designed to function completely without a backend server, proxy, or cloud provider, it fetches feeds directly and parses RSS 2.0, Atom, and RDF formats using fast-xml-parser. Articles are saved locally in IndexedDB for offline reading, while user settings sync via chrome.storage.sync. Huminn also leverages Chrome's built-in AI capabilities to translate news stories and generate summaries on-device.
