What it does
About Pomvox
Pomvox is a free and open-source voice dictation application built specifically for macOS 14 or later on Apple Silicon devices. Leveraging the Apple Neural Engine to convert speech to text in real time, the application inserts transcribed text directly into the user's active cursor position across any application with a text field, including code editors, terminals, email clients, chat programs, and note apps. An integrated local language model automatically formats the text by applying capitalization, inserting punctuation, and removing filler words. Pomvox operates entirely on-device with zero network code in its transcription path, providing private and offline voice dictation following an initial setup.
