What it does
About Rescript
Rescript is an open-source video and audio editing application that transcribes media directly on-device and automatically cuts footage as words are removed from the transcript. Powered locally by Whisper through WebGPU with a WASM fallback, it generates word-level timestamps and speaker labels without requiring account creation or file uploads. Rescript supports exports up to 4K resolution in MP4 and WebM formats, audio outputs, written transcripts, and caption files. It is available via web browser and desktop builds for macOS, Windows, and Linux.
