Screen Awesome is a local-first browser extension for screen recording and screenshot capture. Built on Chrome Manifest V3 and Chrome capture APIs, it processes and stores media directly inside the browser using IndexedDB. Users can record entire screens, individual windows, specific tabs, or webcam feeds with a moveable camera bubble, as well as take full-page scrolling screenshots. An auto-zoom feature glides a virtual camera across click locations, while editable annotation tools allow users to add arrows, text, step counters, and speech bubbles.
