What it does
About x402
x402 is an open payment protocol designed for autonomous AI software agents to pay for HTTP API requests programmatically. When a client agent requests a paid API endpoint, the server returns an HTTP 402 Payment Required response containing pricing and address details in the PAYMENT-REQUIRED header. The client SDK interprets this response, signs the authorization via a wallet, and retries the request automatically. Powered by USDC on the Base layer-2 network, x402 enables low-cost micropayments and agent monetization without credit cards or account registration.
